What do you think your clients who are buying in the USA for the first time find the most challenging?
Knowing who to trust. When buying in the USA, a buyer is mostly likely working with a real estate agent, being introduced to a property management company and establishing a relationship with a tax accountant (and possibly a builder for new construction), all of whom have different opinions and approaches to the concept of owning in the USA. However, we have international buyers who have bought multiple homes with success and we know the system works. Sometimes the courage to actually make the commitment just isn't there, and understandably so.
Is exchange rate fluctuation an issue during the buying process?
YES! We know that even a few cents on the dollar represents thousands of dollars in purchasing power for our international buyers and sellers. A fluctuation can significantly change the selling price of UK seller to a US buyer who is not affected by exchange rates. Extreme upswings are as bad as slight fluctuations, creating an unrealistic expectation of the market.
What do you enjoy most about partnering with moneycorp?
I believe partnerships like moneycorp make the buying process more stable giving the real estate agent and the client confidence that the best choices are being made. For our company I appreciate the personal connection and the availability of our partners. Iva is not only knowledgeable but personable and welcoming to our agents and clients.
What would you suggest to real estate agents who aren’t working with moneycorp?
I would suggest that they educate themselves about the benefits of using moneycorp and learn how to present those benefits to all of their international buyers and sellers.
