What information do I need for a bank transfer to NZ?

In order to make an international bank transfer to New Zealand, you will need to submit the following information of the recipient and their bank account:

  • Full name of account holder
  • Bank/Branch Code (also known as NZ Banker’s Association Bank/Branch Number)
  • Account Number (7 digit code)
  • BIC / SWIFT code

What is a bank code in NZ?

New Zealand banks typically list the Bank/Branch Number together with the Account Number as a 16-digit number, which is sometimes referred to as simply a ‘bank code’. The first 6 digits are the Bank/Branch Number, the following 7 digits are the Account Number, while the final 3 digits detail the type of account (business, savings, checking etc).

When making a payment from your moneycorp account, you’ll notice this code is referred to as a NZ Banker’s Association Bank/Branch Number.
